A postdoctoral position is available in the Section on Molecular Structure and Functional Genomics, National Eye Institute (NEI), National Institutes of Health (NIH), in Bethesda, Maryland, to study novel aspects of AMD. These include characterization of protein deposition in AMD and the effects of serum-starvation on RPE. The section uses techniques ranging from biophysics to mouse models to examine novel aspects of protein function, interaction and deposition in normal eye and in aging and disease. For more information, see www.nei.nih.gov/intramural/molstr.asp.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. and/or M.D., and a strong background in biochemistry, molecular biology or biophysics and less than 5 years of postdoctoral experience.
