Dr. Emily Chew was recently elected to the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) Board of Trustees. She will serve as a Clinical/Epidemiologic Research Trustee. The board is comprised of elected members from ARVO’s 13 scientific sections along with elected and trustee-appointed officers. It sets the strategic direction for ARVO and has the final responsibility and authority for all actions and policies that are recommended or adopted by standing and special committees, advisory councils and representatives to professional and governmental organizations, agents and employees.
Dr. Chew is deputy director, NEI Division of Epidemiology and Clinical Applications. Her term on the ARVO Board of Trustees will run until May 2017.
