Big ideas from the Big Apple The NEHEP Planning Committee met in June at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary (NYEE) of Mount Sinai in Manhattan. During this meeting, members discussed future NEHEP goals and objectives with a focus on strategic partnerships and enhanced communications. One discussion centered on the need to educate people about the strong connection between eye health and overall health and enjoyment of life.
In the coming months, we’ll finalize a new NEHEP strategic plan that incorporates many of the big ideas from the Planning Committee, including building awareness about eye health as a quality-of-life indicator.
Finally, we’d like to thank our Planning Committee members for their continued support and dedication! A special thank you goes out to Dr. Jim Tsai, NYEE president, for being a great host and giving committee members the opportunity to meet face to face. Together, our Planning Committee members, patients, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders help us make a difference for people with eye disease or vision loss.
