Primary vitreoretinal lymphoma (PVRL)

Primary vitreoretinal lymphoma (PVRL) is a subset of primary CNS lymphoma. PVRL is mostly a diffuse large B cell non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma that usually invades the retina, vitreous, or optic nerve with or without concomitant CNS involvement. Majority of PVRL is a diffuse large B cell lymphoma. Although it is a rare disease, PVRL is fatal and the incidence has increased in the past two decades. Our main interests are diagnosis, molecular pathology and pathogenesis of the malignancy.
