Collaborating with NEI Intramural Scientists

The Office of the NEI Technology Development Coordinator assists NEI scientists to exchange research materials, disseminate data, and forge scientific partnerships with industry, academia, and nonprofit organizations. Many of NEI's technology transfer activities are aimed at developing basic research discoveries to diagnose and/or treat sight threatening diseases. The NEI maintains a list of NEI inventions available for licensing through the NIH Office of Technology Transfer. The SBIR Technology Transfer Program allows small businesses to apply for funding to develop NIH inventions into commercial products and services. If selected for this funding, the small business will be granted a royalty-free, non-exclusive internal research-use license for the NIH-invention. For more information visit the NEI Technology Transfer webpage.
