The course begins (rain or shine) on the NIH campus, Bethesda, Md., on the lawn in front of Building 1.
SCHEDULE
10:30 am – Halloween contests:
Bring your pre-carved/decorated pumpkin or wear your scariest, funniest, or most creative costume. Sponsored by the NEI Employee Engagement Committee. For details about the contests, email kerina.hawthorne@nih.gov
11:00 am – Demonstrations and learning: Watch an NIH Police Canine Unit demo, learn about Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) charities, the NIH Blood Bank and Children’s Inn, and get free eye screenings offered by Howard University
11:45 am – Warm-up led by NIH Recreation and Welfare (R&W) Association fitness instructors
12:00 pm – Welcome from Michael F. Chiang, M.D., and CFC charity speaker, Samantha Johnson, development officer, Warrior Canine Connection. Check out the puppy webcam!
12:10 pm - Race starts
Participants will exit campus and circumnavigate the perimeter of campus and return through security (route map is below).
Remember to bring your NIH PIV card to re-enter.

The route: Exit campus on Wilson Drive, turn right (south) on Rockville Pike, turn right (west) on a path to Old Georgetown Road, turn right (north) on Old Georgetown, turn right (east) on Cedar Lane, and turn right (south) on Rockville Pike. Re-enter campus on Wilson Drive where you exited. The race starts and ends at the same location. Water stations are along the route.
