Murine ocular lymphoma

We have successfully inoculated a murine lymphoma cell line into the vitreous of adult BALB/c mice (Chan et al. Invest Ophthalmol Vis Sci 2005;46:415-9). Within 2-4 weeks tumor cells from the vitreous migrate through the retina and gather between the RPE cell and neuroretina. These lymphoma cells produce high levels of IL-10 and IFN-g transcripts. A high level of IL-10 is also found in the vitreous. This model mimics human primary intraocular lymphoma. Currently we are also developing a murine B-cell lymphoma model by intraocular inoculation of Burkitts lymphoma into SCID mice.
