National Science Teachers Association

The National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) is the largest organization in the world committed to promoting excellence and innovation in science teaching and learning for all. NSTA promoted Healthy Vision Month by posting the observance as well as ideas for celebrating HVM to NSTA’s events calendar at www.nsta.org/publications/calendar.

National Association of School Nurses

The National Association of School Nurses (NASN) advances the specialty practice of school nursing to improve the health and academic success of all students. To promote Healthy Vision Month, NASN highlighted the observance in its member newsletter and featured ideas on its website for how nurses can celebrate HVM in their communities. NASN also worked with NEI to develop a post for the NASN blog, School Nurse Net.

CY365

Capture Your 365 is an online photography community that issues a monthly photo challenge and, using a prompt, asks followers and subscribers to take a picture of a different item each day. To promote Healthy Vision Month, CY365 drafted a blog post and sent information through its daily e-newsletter. In addition, CY365 also engaged followers on social media by creating eye-related prompts for May's photo challenge and encouraging followers to use the Healthy Vision Month hashtag when posting #CY365 photos.

National Diabetes Education Program (NDEP)

The National Diabetes Education Program works to improve the treatment and outcomes for people with diabetes, promote early diagnosis, and prevent or delay the onset of type 2 diabetes. To promote Healthy Vision Month, NDEP shared information about the observance in its News and Notes newsletter and posted Healthy Vision Month information through its social media channels.

Phone Rover

PhoneRover is a national provider of communication solutions for the healthcare industry; assisting physician practices and health systems with the delivery of appointment reminders and patient messaging using automated voice calls, SMS text messages and its Health On-Hold NetworkTM, which broadcasts wellness programming to patients who call their practitioners office and are placed on hold. To promote Healthy Vision Month, Phone Rover produced eye health on-hold programming that shared the observance’s five key messages.
